Hola familia,
first
off im still alive... haha even after the almost 20 hours of flying! I made it to the CCM(mtc) perfectly fine! I met like 15 missionarys on the
way here and they are some of the coolest people ever! It suprised me
soo much how all of them remind me of my friends back home. I fit right
in! I had a thought the first day right before I got on the airplane to
Buenos Aries. Looking at all the brand new missionaries just chillin at
the airport laughing and being super immature and I thought there is no way God can trust us enough to let us go
out and share his gospel with the rest of the world. I felt so
unqualified for the task at hand. but later that day we had a class
where a investagator came in and as a group of us new missionarys we got
to try and teach him and mostly help him with family problems he was
having. the spirit was working so strongly through us and we were asking
truly inspired questions. the investagator was crying and it was the
strongest moment that hit me like a wall. the president even stopped the
meeting and just looked at us and said "wow". i know we are young and
were deffinitly not the maturist people out there but the faith we have
and the desire we have to do what is right is incredible! That is all we
need and the holy ghost can truly guide us and help us reach the
potential that we can achieve.
Anyway,
The first maybe 3 days I felt like the new kid coming to a brand new
school with not a lot of friends and it was really stressful. it was
kinda hard not gonna lie! but now after only 9 days I feel like a senior
in high school again where i know everyone here. Ive also been taught
all the tricks by the older north americans that have been here for 3
weeks. haha it really helps when you suck up to them cuz then they dont
pick you to give any talks;)
My
companions name is Elder Gunnell, he is from Idaho. Elder
Garder and I like to do most of the same things and he's from utah
too. My compañero and I get along really
really well. we dont have a ton of stuff in common but we find ourselves
cracking up allll the time! man we have so much fun. but even though we
dont have a ton in common, we are seriously the perfect pair when it
comes to teaching the investagator. we complement each other so well! I
feel like everytime we teach we know exactly what the other one is
thinking and we are always on the same page.
I
thought the CCM was going to be tiny and getto... but it's not! there
are like 80 missionarys here with like 30 north americans and the rest
latinos. the language barrier is KILLIN ME hahaha. I never thought it
would be so hard just to express my self but its so funny when we try. I
was wrestling this latino in our room and we were like fake boxing and
he comes up to me and says "Now I'm going to get killed" even though he
meant to say, you're going to get killed haha I'm pretty much like pro at
spanglish now.
THE
FOOD..... it is theeeeeeeeeeeeeee BEST FREAKIN FOOD I EVER DID EAT ON
THIS WHOLE EARTH hahaha but really though it's like heaven on a plate
everytime. I love it here! It's like perfect tempature all the time. Oh
and soccer! it is insane! I played basketball and schooled all the
chucky elders that are here then switched to soccer cuz its so sick!haha
the latinos are crazy.... there is one from a professional club in
italy that stopped his whole career to come on a mission and he is like
straight up Messi. even when he says hes "going easy" its like pro.
Oh
funny story... So, we have like one giant bathroom for the dudes here and
this whole CCM is not like super nice but it is almost like United States standards. so in the morning I go and take a shower just like
every other day and put the knob on all the way hot and it comes out
freezing ice cold! so I turn it the other way for barley a second and
it turns even colder! so I just say, suck it up and take my shower any
way. This went on for 5 days straight of waking up and pretty much
showering in ice cold water. It sucked so bad but I thought I should
just get used to it cuz idk if I even get a shower where I'm going after
this! so anyway the knob was left on the cold side and I just turned it
on to get in and it was HOT?!? I guess they put the labels on backwards
and I didn't even know this whole time!! hahaha it was so dumb.
My p-days are on Thursdays and email is at 10.30am Argentina time. it ends at 11.30 so I
don't get alot of time!
I
hope everyone is doing good! I thought I'd never admit it but I
definitly miss all you yeahoos soo much... I love you all so much! I know you
all are probably dieing without me;) haha but really though these people
need us. they need missionarys, they need the gospel. they need to know
how much their heavenly father loves them and looks out for them. I got
to see the change it made it one family as they came and gave a fireside
here. it COMPLETELY CHANGES peoples lives. I'm so used to it being like
the normal thing back in Utah but after seeing this family I promised
myself I will never give up on anyone in my mission because I know how
happy it can make them! I dont even care the trials or challenges god
gives me on my mission, he can give me as much as he wants because it's
not about me. it's about the people. I am here to
my God. also, I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church and
that it was truely restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. If you dont
know these things I invite you to read the book of mormon and know for
yourself because you can! Pray to know and God will answer.
Buenos Suerte!
Elder Midsize(Nyberg)
